Well, Mad Beach Surf Shop was legendary for a Gulf Coast Surf Shop, and ran from 1976 to 2001 in Florida, on Madeira Beach originally, and grew to 4 stores expanding to St. Pete Beach, North and South Tampa. Mad is a nickname for Madeira Beach. Mad Music started in 1996, at the Madeira Beach location, and the business combined surf and skateboards and bikinis with guitars and CDs - mostly in the surf, punk, and reggae variety. In 2001, a condo building craze was going through Madeira Beach, and we were enticed into selling the property, and headed to Central Avenue in St. Pete. After a couple of years, we went head-on into guitars and lessons, and that's what we do and love to this day!
